When searching for ink jet cartridges online you will run across the term OEM ink cartridge. OEM literally stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer.
So an OEM cartridge is a cartridge that has been manufactured by the same company that made the printer.
These cartridges generally cost quite a bit more than remanufactured cartridges or compatible ink jet cartridges so if your looking for a cheap alternative but don’t want to compromise on quality then check out inkexpert.ie for the best value around on Ink Cartridges and Laser Toners.

Computer giant Hewlett-Packard has poured cold water on reports suggesting that some of its printers could be set on fire remotely by hackers.
After a controversial MSNBC report HP were quick to release a statement saying that the report was untrue.
“Speculation regarding potential for devices to catch fire due to a firmware change is false. No customer has reported unauthorized access,” HP confirmed.
“[Our] LaserJet printers have a hardware element called a ‘thermal breaker’ that is designed to prevent the fuser from overheating or causing a fire. It cannot be overcome by a firmware change or this proposed vulnerability.”
Although HP did acknowledge the existence of a potential security vulnerability identified by Stolfo, the company emphasized that certain printers could only be compromised if placed on the Internet without a firewall.
“In a private network, some printers may be vulnerable if a malicious effort is made to modify the firmware of the device by a trusted party on the network… [And] in some Linux or Mac environments, it may be possible for a specially formatted corrupt print job to trigger a firmware upgrade,” HP added.
The company also noted that it was coding a firmware upgrade to “mitigate” the issue .Still, most users shouldn’t need to worry, since office and home printers are typically protected by either a firewall or their home router, which keeps the printer’s specific IP address hidden from potential evildoers on the Internet. This simple fact is probably why, as HP says, there hasn’t been a single user complaint about printer hacking and no one’s heard of a printer botnet.
